Bro. George and Sis. Twilla met on a blind date in November of 1954 and were married less than two months later on Christmas Eve.  They have five daughters.  Sis. Twilla was saved in Avondale, Arizona in 1964.  Bro. George was saved in May of 1966 and called to preach in late 1967.  In the early part of his ministry he preached in parking lots, farmers markets, and where ever. He had a VW Van with sun roof and a sound system that he would use to play Gospel music until a group begin to gather then he would preach.  The Lord was using them to uplift and encourage pastors and they thought that was their calling but in 1996 Bro. George began working with the Jail Ministry at Parkwood Baptist Church in Houston.  It was then he realized that God had more in store for them.  In 1997 Rock of Ages Ministries was looking for help in a prison revival and Bro. George volunteered.  It was very apparent he had found God's calling for his life.  He and Sis. Twilla came to Emmanuel Baptist in 2002 when they moved to Rusk, Texas and started working in the TDCJ Hodge & Skyview Units and Cherokee County Jail.  He served with ROA for about 12 years.  After resigning from ROA he has continued to work in the Hodge/Skyview Units and Cherokee County Jail.
